NAS Lemoore, near Fresno in California's fertile central valley, is home to the Navy's Strike Fighter Squadrons and Pacific Fleet Carrier Air Groups. Known as the Navy's Master Super Hornet Station, NAS Lemoore's Community Support Programs, including Fleet & Family Support Center, Housing and Morale, Welfare & Recreation, Food & Beverage and Child Youth Programs provides Sailors, Marines and their family members, as well as, Retires, Reservists and other eligible visitors with many recreation opportunities throughout the year. NAS Lemoore is also close to some of California's most spectacular scenery including Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, ski areas and the surrounding lake regions. It is also, centrally located between the San Francisco Bay Area and the always popular theme parks located in the Los Angeles and Southern California Areas.

    MRF Tournament

    23-24 July - NAS Lemoore hosted its first MRF Sanctioned Tournament at its Gym and Fitness Center. The event drew a crowd of local players and three Marines from Camp Pendleton for a total of 16 MRF players (11 upper division and 5 lower division players).

    After pool play was completed, the top player from each of the four flights advanced to the next round of play. Jace Mirmak (Lemoore), Derek Cooper (CPEN), Rod Sharrar (CPEN) and Sean McTighe (CPEN)

    In the semi-finals, Derek Cooper Def Jace Mirmak in two games to advance to the finals... And Sean McTighe Def Rod Sharrar in three games to advance to an all-Marine/all-Pendleton Final on the Navy base.

    In the NAS Lemoore MRF tournament Finals, Sean squeaked by Derek in two games (15-13, 15-13) to win the tournament.

    Thanks to Courtney Tilley (MWR), Kristen Helm and Jack Hughes (MRF) for putting on a great tournament... and if you stayed around long enough, you got to enjoy "The Spiceman's" cooking :)
